We are awaiting April showers to bring May flowers, but in the meantime, let’s peruse the fashion trends for Spring and Summer soon to arrive. Colors are always the first thing we want to know about. After months of dark colors for fall and winter, and dreary weather, and cold temperatures, and polar vortexes, we are so ready for some bright hues to lift our moods. Here are some colors we will be seeing in shops within the next few months. We’ve moved away from the neon and the overly bright of last year and returned to the wearable and more naturalistic hues. The dominant colors are greens and reds, with blue taking a backseat, though we suspect blues will be coming on strong in the late summer and fall. Some of Sasi Bon’s newest items fit right into these color trends seamlessly. We have so many genuine stones to choose from: jades, jasper, carnelians, and quartz in fresh spring and summer tones. Do you remember the iconic movie if the 1990’s Clueless? Do you remember the fabulous matching tartan outfits worn by the two main characters, Cher, played to perfection by Alicia Silverstone and Stacy Dash? This movie has been on our mind lately when we see the re-emergence of tartan in the latest fashion pages. Not that tartan or plaid ever went out of style. It was always easy to find tartan scarves and mini skirts, but the trendiest looks now feature tartan dresses, tights, jackets, and coats. You don’t have to be Scottish to appreciate this traditional pattern. While bold prints are always great, accessorizing with it is sometimes a difficult prospect. When the prints are bold, we suggest dainty, subtle jewelry which will enhance and not distract from the clothing. We have a series of dainty and elegant jewelry sets, which do the job nicely. We love the spark of crystals, not just in the evening but for all occasions. We especially love the deep and mesmerizing hue of mystic crystal. A mix of Montana blue with AB rainbow hues, it seems to compliment all skin tones and all stone tones too! We’ve put together some of our favorite designs this year using this crystal, mixing it with some wonderful genuine stones. We especially love the imprinted agates which add even more “mystical” qualities to the entire collection. Black and white photos, black and white checker board, black and white diamonds… the stark contrast between these two colors has always been attractive to the eyes. This spring, black and white can be found in all manner of fashion accessories and clothing, so it becomes supremely important to distinguish the fashionista from the trend-followers. Classic, cool and chic, Sasi Bon’s monochrome pearl and black agate necklace offsets the two extreme colors with an intermediate soft and satiny gray of the genuine freshwater pearls. Gemstones were created by nature over millions of years, each piece of gemstone, cut from the whole, seems to have a life of its own. No two can be exactly alike, nor would any connoisseur wish them to be. Far from being the provenance of flower children or hippies, semiprecious beads can also add a welcome dose of glamor and color to haute couture. Evening wear does not have to follow the tired old rules! In our next series of posts, Sasi Bon would like to introduce to you fabulous designs of high-end jewelry using semiprecious beads and crystals. The smooth gray of Vivian Westwood Short Peppermint Cocotte dress is enlivened with Sasi Bon’s fluorite and cape amethyst necklace and matching earrings. The variance of shapes of the stones also bring a touch of whimsy and compliment the asymmetrical draping of the dress.
